More than a voice

Hello, I'm Clare Reeves.
​
I'm a British voice artist, broadcaster, presenter and actor, and for most of my career I've been helping people connect.
Sometimes that's through a microphone in a recording studio. Sometimes on stage in front of a live audience. Sometimes through a radio programme, an interview, a character, a story or a brand.
Whatever the medium, the goal is always the same:
To make people feel something.
Professional voice artist. BBC broadcaster. Trained actor. Presenter. Musician. Storyteller.
But that's only part of the story.

My Story

My love of broadcasting and performance began long before it became a career.

As a child, I was fascinated by music, radio and storytelling. I spent hours recording the charts onto cassette tapes, listening to presenters and wondering how voices could create such a powerful connection with complete strangers.

That fascination eventually led me to volunteer at my local BBC radio station while studying for my Media degree. By the time I graduated, I already had several years of broadcasting experience behind me.

Looking back, there is a thread that runs through everything I've done since.

Connection.

I've worked behind microphones, on stage, in studios, in training rooms and in front of audiences. I've interviewed guests, hosted events, produced programmes, played characters and helped organisations communicate more effectively.
Different worlds.
The same purpose.
Helping people listen, engage and remember.
Because people rarely connect with information.
They connect with stories.
They connect with emotion.
They connect with each other.

How I work


​Whether I'm recording a commercial, narrating a documentary, performing a game character or hosting a live event, my approach remains remarkably simple.

First, understand the audience.
Then understand what they need to feel.
Only then think about the performance.

My broadcasting background taught me how to hold attention.
My acting training taught me how to create believable performances.

My years as a voice artist taught me how to collaborate, adapt quickly and deliver consistently.
The result is work that feels natural, authentic and genuinely connected to the people it's intended to reach.

Beyond the microphone

When I'm not in the studio, you'll usually find me doing something creative.

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I play alto and baritone saxophone, sing and perform with an all-female saxophone quartet. If there's live music involved, I'm usually interested.

Living by the Kent coast means you'll often find me sea swimming, walking by the water or getting distracted by a particularly beautiful garden. Gardening is my version of meditation and my greenhouse is one of my favourite places to disappear for an hour.

I'm also a self-confessed brand geek. I studied Brand Identity, Strategy and Experience at Central Saint Martins and remain fascinated by why people connect with certain ideas, stories and businesses.

That curiosity is also what led me into coaching. I love helping other voice artists and creative professionals build careers that feel authentic to who they are, rather than trying to become somebody else.

I've travelled widely, including adventures across Africa and the Trans-Siberian Railway, and I remain endlessly curious about people, cultures and the stories that make us who we are.

Most of all, I believe that great communication is about humanity.
Technology changes.
Platforms change.
Trends come and go.
But people will always connect with people.
